EL2s
of the Konin lignite mine railway
On
September 16, 2008, together with Holger Neumann and Florian Menius, I paid a
visit to the Konin lignite mine. It was a great day, largely thanks to
very friendly and helpful people we meet there. Many thanks to all!

…and EL2-39 in the shed.
Original manufacturer’s plate on EL2-40. These plates are considered
collector’s items and often ‘disappear’.
A lineup of ‘Crocodiles’ at the depot: the first one is EL2-38.

the pit by a belt conveyor.

EL2-36 again. During loading, the locomotive is fed via side-mounted
current collectors and remotely controlled. Loading of a ten-car draft
typically takes about twenty minutes.

EL2-40.
Isn’t she impressive?
