Class
IIg of the k. k. priv. Galizische Carl
Ludwig-Bahn (CLB) numbered just
six locomotives, built in 1885 by StEG
as factory type 88. These were 1-2-0 engines, with outer frames and 1730 mm
drivers, intended for fast passenger traffic. Contrary to earlier practice,
they were not given individual names, bot solely service numbers 9, 13, 16,
17, 19 and 34 – all ‘inherited’ from older locomotives, withdrawn prior to
their introduction. Following the nationalization of CLB in 1892 they were re-numbered by kkStB 721 through 726 and in 1905 re-numbered again, this time
107.21 through 26. In the kkStB
service they were fitted with slightly modified boilers. They were coupled
with class 34 (CLB class B) three-axle
tenders. Three
examples (107.22, 107.23 and 107.25) were withdrawn between 1915 and 1916.
107.21 ended up in the USSR and its final fate is not known. The remaining
two engines became Polish property and were impressed into PKP. According to LP, class designation Oc17 was probably reserved for them, but
never actually assigned, as both were withdrawn before new system came into
use. This is hardly surprising, as from the point of view of fast passenger
traffic they were totally obsolete. Oc17 is thus just most probably another
‘class that never was’. No locomotive of this type has been preserved. Main
